Klamath Greenways Foundation will be joining the Klamath County Museum in presenting the Link River Festival in 2017. It is set for Saturday, June 3rd, from 10am to 2pm. This year the Klamath County Museum has generously stepped forward to head the Festival, and Klamath Greenways, with its limited membership, will enthusiastically be assisting the Museum. KGF was awarded a grant was a $1000 from the Klamath County Cultural Coalition for this year’s Link River Festival. This generous grant will help to expand and strengthen efforts to educate citizenry about the unique qualities of the Link River Canyon.
Klamath Greenways Foundation initiated the Link River Festival in 2013. It continues to be supported by numerous individuals, agencies and businesses. A series of video vignettes called “Come Experience the Link River,” were created to relate the Link River’s historical significance and to raise awareness of this unique regional resource. The vignettes examined the river canyon’s ecological/geological history, cultural significance, hydroelectric importance, and recreational opportunities. To see the Link River videos, go to Link River You Tube channel. We invite our local and regional community to join us on June 3rd, walking by the river, enjoying the sights, sounds and critters, while learning more about our heritage and environment.
